Q: How do I refer a patient for ultrasound?
A: Fill out an Ultrasound Request Form for the patient. Include the owner information. Fill in the pertinent history section of the form with recent issues, diagnostics, and conditions to rule out. Fax the form along with any recent lab wok, blood work, other diagnostic tests or reports. Radiographs that pertain to the immediate condition should be shared via Vetology if possible, on a disc, or by email.
Q: Can I recommend specific treatments or sedatives for my patient?
A: Absolutely. Please make a note on the request form. This is especially helpful if you are familiar with the patient’s behavior, tolerance of sedatives/medications, or health concerns and cautions.
Q: Do I need to submit pertinent radiographs associated with the patient’s condition.
A: Yes. It is extremely helpful in the appointment process. The radiographs can be submitted via Vetology, disc with client, or by email. If the radiographs were previously reviewed through Vetology, please make a note and disregard any resending.
Q: Should I send recent lab work?
A: Yes. Please send any recent or pertinent lab work, blood work, or other diagnostic tests or reports that apply to the current condition.
Q: How should I send the information?
